2020 furniture fairs: 7 dates not to be missed

A furniture fair in 2020 is always a must-attend event. It’s an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their wares or find sources of inspiration. As for retailers, they can unearth new products to offer their customers.
With 102 furniture events scheduled for this year, you can’t be everywhere at once! That’s why we’ve selected the 7 not-to-be-missed furniture fairs for 2020.

#1 – Furniture fair 2020: Maison & Objet

Maison & Objet is the first furniture fair of 2020. Taking place from January 17 to 21, 2020, it will focus on the consumption habits of the new generation and their implications for the lifestyle sector.

It will therefore be an opportunity for e-commerce players to find products in tune with the times, for which demand is likely to increase in the coming months. And for those unable to attend, a “catch-up session” will be organized from September 4 to 8, 2020!

#2 – Milan Furniture Fair

Taking place from April 21 to 26, 2020, the Milan International Furniture Fair aims to develop new business relationships between real estate companies and interior design agencies. This furniture fair in 2020 is aimed at furniture retailers and designers who value networking above all else. Exhibitions organized by the Salone del Mobile attract customers from booming markets such as China and the Russian Federation. With around 400,000 visitors per show, it’s an ideal place to make your mark.

As one of the best-known home furnishings fairs, many luxury and design brands invest in impressing potential partners with the most extraordinary and unique products of their kind. It’s both a great place to meet the biggest brands and to see the best design studios, architects and furniture manufacturers.

#3 – ICFF: an elitist exhibition

ICFF is the premier furniture fair of 2020. Welcoming over 30 countries, this show is strongly focused on trends and innovation. The number of participants is much smaller than at other design fairs, which means that every design studio or brand is showcased. Priority is given to collaboration, achieved through communication, discussion groups and training seminars on product design.

Winning one of the IFCC awards is very prestigious, and a large party organized for participants increases networking opportunities. Some of the participants may be offered a place on round tables – another great opportunity to raise brand awareness.

The 32nd ICFF will be held this year from May 17 to 20, 2020 in New York.

#4 – 52nd NeoCon: one of the biggest furniture fairs in 2020

With nearly 93,000m² and more than 600 exhibitors, NeoCon is undoubtedly one of the world’s largest home furnishings shows. Taking place from June 8 to 10, 2020 in Chicago, NeoCon will feature innovative products and services from renowned companies and up-and-coming talent. Companies operating in the furniture sector will also be able to discover original solutions in commercial design.

The 2020 furniture fair will also feature daily presentations and over a hundred micro-training sessions. These meetings will be an opportunity to meet experts and gain insight into today’s most relevant topics as well as the future of commercial design.

#5 – The 2020 furniture fair: must-see dates in China

China is the world’s largest supplier of furniture. Furniture retailers source from there, and furniture manufacturers often turn to China to expand their ranges.
In 2020, several exhibitions dedicated to furniture will be scheduled. Such is the case of the China International Furniture Fair in Guangzhou, organized in 3 phases. The 1st, from March 18 to 21, will focus on home furnishings, and the 2nd, from March 28 to 31, on office furniture, hotel furnishings and plastic furniture. A 3rd phase, organized from September 7 to 10 in Shanghai this time, will cover all these themes (home & office, furniture & décor). The 2020 furniture fair will be an opportunity to discover suppliers offering a wide range of furniture and new products.

Players operating in the bathroom sector will be able to attend the Asian Sanitaryware and Bathroom Accessories Show in Hong Kong, from October 27 to 29, 2020.

#6 – Furnishings exhibitions in the French provinces

Paris isn’t the only city where furniture fairs will be held in 2020. Several cities in France are already preparing to welcome exhibitors and visitors. Here are 3 of them:

  • Viving Lille proposes to bring together 120 professionals operating in the home sector over 3 days: interior and exterior fittings, renovation, decoration… With over 11,000 visitors expected, it’s a great business opportunity for furniture players. The show will be held from March 13 to 15, 2020.
  • From April 3 to 5, 2020, Printemps des Docks will be held in Lyon. Although this event is not exclusively dedicated to home furnishings, the variety of themes will attract an eclectic public. 88 exhibitors from the world of home decoration are already on the program, so why not join us?
  • The Foire Internationale de Bordeaux will take place from May 16 to 24, 2020. Its particularity is to offer a host of different workshops, attracting a highly varied public. This will enable furniture exhibitors to showcase their wares and boost their sales.
